Hallo PDF lets you view, edit, annotate, fill, sign, redact, and reorganise PDF documents directly in your web browser. There is nothing to install and no account to create.
Your files never leave your device
Unlike many "free PDF" websites that upload your documents to a server, Hallo PDF does all of its work locally, inside your browser. The engine is a from-scratch PDF implementation compiled to WebAssembly. Your files are never sent to us — which means your private documents stay private. See our Privacy Policy for details.
What you can do
- View and navigate PDFs (single page, continuous scroll, two-page spread, full-screen presentation)
- Edit and re-flow existing text, and add new text in matching fonts and colours
- Annotate: highlight, underline, shapes, arrows, freehand ink, sticky notes, callouts, stamps, and revision clouds
- Fill and flatten forms; create links; add and verify digital signatures
- Redact text and regions so the underlying content is truly removed
- Reorder, rotate, insert, delete, merge, split, crop, and number pages
- Search (with regex), find & replace, OCR scanned pages, and read aloud
- Optimise / compress, flatten to images, and export
Open source engine
The PDF engine is implemented from the ISO 32000 specification rather than wrapping an existing library — it is a genuine from-scratch build for control and learning.
